| Biblical Calendar— The First Month of the ancient Biblical Hebrew Calendar, is commonly called Aviv or Nisan. The first month is established by God in Exodus 12:1-2, it is simply called, “the First Month of your year”. In the Torah the first month is named Aviv. This Hebrew term (aviv) used to describe the first month, marks the beginning of the barley harvest in Israel. “The word aviv also refers to a particular growth stage of barley, at which point it is not yet golden but just ripe enough (in Israel) to be suitable for the “first fruits” offering following the Lord’s Passover. | Civil Calendar– Nisan on the Assyrian calendar is the first month, and on the Hebrew calendar is the first month of the Biblical Year. However, on the Jewish civil year calendar it is listed as the seventh month. The name NISAN is of Assyrian-Babylonian origin. It is a spring month of 30 days and usually falls in March–April on the Gregorian calendar. In the Book of Esther in the Tanakh it is referred to as Nisan. Nisan – Aviv (March/April) |
The Hebraic month of Nisan or Aviv is the first of the twelve months in the (Hebrew) calendar. Aviv is a Hebraic term for the stage of growth of grain when the seeds have reached full size. The harvest was waved before the Lord this month (Lev. 23:4-11).
The First Month on the Biblical Calendar is the month of for the Lord’s Passover Feast and the entire month is a prolonged festival. God has packed this month with HIS appointed times – Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of First Fruits and Crucifixion and Resurrection of HIS son, our savior Yeshua / Jesus . It’s the month of redemption, the month of the beginning of miracles, and the month that sets the course for your future. |

In the First Month, on the fourteenth day of the month at dusk is the LORD’s Passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread unto the LORD; seven days ye shall eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work. And ye shall bring an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days; in the seventh day is a holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work. (Leviticus 23:5–8)
Mark 14.17 Passover is observed on the 14th of Nisan every year (Leviticus 23.5). Yeshua / Jesus and His disciples partook of the Passover in the early evening of the previous day. (Days are calculated from sunset-to-sunset, not midnight-to-midnight.) Easter/ Resurrection Sunday is linked to the Jewish Passover by much of its symbolism, as well as by its position in the calendar. In most European languages the feast called Easter in English is termed by the words for Passover in those languages and in the older English versions of the Bible the term Easter was the term used to translate Passover. In Leviticus 23:2 GOD tells us, “These are My appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the Lord, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.” They are Yehovah’s specially appointed times available to all His followers. |

Nisan is associated with the Hebrew letter Hei which signifies violent praise. To the Jews, the letter Hei pictured the wind blowing through a lattice over a window. Prophetically this signifies a window with the wind of God blowing down into you every year. The Spirit of God needs to blow on you during this month. | |||

Nisan is associated with our speech: the ability to express our deepest feelings and insights. If you are making negative confessions during Nisan, you will have trouble the rest of the year. Negative confession will take seed in you instead of positive confessions grabbing the wind and changing your atmosphere into blessings. |
