God’s 12 Month Calendar Details

God's 12 Months

What Do They Tell Us?

God is always talking to us even through the Biblical months on HIS sacred calendar. Each month has unique characteristics and attributes we should be aware of in the spiritual realm. Each month is linked to a Hebrew Tribe, a Hebrew Alphabet and Biblical events. Sometimes there are warning and cautions!

Throughout scripture we see HIS time references to the calendar: The First Month, The Seventh Month, the Third Month, etc. The Israelites later assigned names to each month; but it appears that GOD only gave each month the name of their numerical position or order in the calendar.

The Biblical Calendar provides us with instructions on how to honor God with the dates for the Appointed Times or Biblical feast days that the Father has established for us to meet with HIM and celebrate.  Just like the man-made Gregorian Calendar that we used in the United States is filled with national and cultural events that we observe every year, HIS sacred calendar has Appointed Times or appointments with GOD.

The Biblical calendar is the time reckoning system that the original worshippers of Israel used to count the days and months. The Biblical Calendar is lunar, based upon the cycles of the moon.  The Moon takes about 27 to 29 days to orbit Earth, but the lunar phase cycle (from new Moon to new Moon) is 29.5 days. This is where we get 30 days in a month.  However, Gregorian calendar is a solar calendar and the dating system is based on the time it takes the earth to revolve once around the sun, about 365 days in a year.

On God’s calendar, days are calculated with evening or sundown as the beginning of the day. Genesis 1:5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
