Last Week of the Counting of the Omer

This is the last week of the Counting of the Omer and around this time about 120 followers of Yeshua are in Jerusalem, perhaps in the Upper Room praying and waiting on the promise.  In John 14:16-17, Yeshua promises his disciples an “advocate” or “helper” to abide with them forever, the Holy Spirit. This promise is linked to their continous  love  for Him and obedience to His commandments. Before ascending to Heaven, Yeshua tells the disciples, that he will ask the Father, (Yahweh) who will then send the Holy Spirit, who will teach them all things and remind them of everything the Messiah has taught them. On the 50th  Day which is Shavuot and Pentecost the Holy Spirit arrives in the Upper Room. The followers of Yeshua are filled with the Holy Ghost!
Congregation Beth Messiah in Houston, Texas has a beautiful prayer guide for the Counting of the Omer. Below are the last seven days of prayer.

Prayers for the last seven days of the Counting

Day 43: Pray for the light of Messiah to be revealed in Israel – Arise, shine, for your light has come! The glory of Adonai has risen on you. (Isaiah 60:1)

Day 44: Pray for revival in Jerusalem – Pray for the peace of Jerusalem— “May those who love you be at peace! May there be shalom within your walls— quietness within your palaces.” For the sake of my brothers and friends, I now say: “Shalom be within you.” For the sake of the House of ADONAI our God, I will seek your good. (Psalm 122:6–9)

Day 45: Pray for a revelation of Messiah Yeshua – “Then I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication, when they will look toward Me whom they pierced. They will mourn for him as one mourns for an only son and grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for a firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10)

Day 46: Pray for renewal in Israel – Then I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Ruach within you. Then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will keep My rulings and do them. Then you will live in the land that I gave to your fathers. You will be My people and I will be your God. (Ezekiel 36:25–28)

Day 47: Pray for a hunger to seek Messiah Yeshua – “You will seek Me and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart. Then I will be found by you,” says ADONAI, “and I will return you from exile, and gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,” says ADONAI, “and I will bring you back to the place from which I removed you as captives into exile.” (Jeremiah 29:13–14)

Day 48: Pray that Israel will return to Adonai – Therefore tell them, thus says ADONAI-Tzva’ot, ‘Return to Me’—it is a declaration of ADONAI-Tzva’ot—‘and I will return to you,’ says ADONAI-Tzva’ot. (Zechariah 1:3)

Day 49: Pray for repentance in Israel – When My people, over whom My Name is called, humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Acts 2:2-11 Complete Jewish Bible
2 Suddenly there came a sound from the sky like the roar of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then they saw what looked like tongues of fire, which separated and came to rest on each one of them. 4 They were all filled with the Ruach HaKodesh and began to talk in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak. 5 Now there were staying in Yerushalayim religious Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When they heard this sound, a crowd gathered; they were confused, because each one heard the believers speaking in his own language. 7 Totally amazed, they asked, “How is this possible? Aren’t all these people who are speaking from the Galil? 8 How is it that we hear them speaking in our native languages? 9 We are Parthians, Medes, Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Y’hudah, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, 10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome; 11 Jews by birth and proselytes; Jews from Crete and from Arabia. . . ! How is it that we hear them speaking in our own languages about the great things God has done?”

Daily Prayer  April 13 – June 1, 2025 in the Evening

During the Counting of the Omer we are counting up to the 50th Day as the Lord has commanded us to do.  We count with great  anticipation, the 49 days from Passover to Shavuot (Pentcost) looking forward to next great move of God in our lives.
15 “‘From the day after the day of rest — that is, from the day you bring the sheaf for waving — you are to count seven full weeks, 16 until the day after the seventh week; you are to count fifty days; and then you are to present a new grain offering to Adonai.  Leviticus 23:15–16 (CJB)
