Hebrew Word of the Week #9
07/26/2026
Pronounced:
kah-DOHSH (rhymes with “goash”).
Definition:
HOLY; set apart; sacred. Holy is Wholly Other which means utterly unlike anything in human experience—so different in nature, being, and category that normal human concepts cannot fully describe or contain it.
Theological Significance:
The most frequently repeated attribute of God in scripture. Kadosh means God is utterly different — set apart in purity, majesty, and moral perfection. God is Holy and therefore HE is not on the same “scale” as created things.
“Holy does not mean distant. He has set you apart too.”
