About the Blog

Do all you can to present yourself to God as someone worthy of his approval, as a worker with no need to be ashamed, because he deals straightforwardly with the Word of the Truth.  Timothy 2:15 in the Complete Jewish Bible

“The GodTime Blog” is a web-based educational tool designed to engage believers across the globe – both Jew and Gentile who are seeking  a deeper understanding of God and His Word  through the Biblical Calendar and the HIS appointed times and festivals. We probe the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith and seek the deeper  meaning of the original scriptures from culture of the original writers. GodTime Blog is geared for anyone striving to gain a greater understanding of the original intent of God’s Word from a Hebraic perspective.

This blog is just the first step in a vision God has given me for a much broader internet tool designed to help believers learn more about the Hebrew  roots of the Christian faith.  This blog is a first step and a small beginning, but it is a giant leap  forward in a much larger plan.

The initial focus is on the concept of Biblical Time, based on Old Testament (Torah) and New Testament combined.    Biblical Time is framed in the concepts of calculating time – on lunar cycles; days from sunset to sunset, months, seasons and the Feasts of the Lord- as they are dictated by God in the holy scriptures.  As I have studied about how God designed the parameters of counting time, I have grown tremendously in understanding the holy scriptures in a new light.

The Creator set time into motion when HE said: “Let there be light.” HE gave us 7 days in a week: six days to do all our work and the seventh day as a Sabbath Day to rest, cease from work  and focus on just HIM.  The Father set the moon in motion in the sky to give us a 30-day lunar month, 12 months in a year and four seasons that change with the position of the constellations in the sky. HE tells us to look to the sky for signs (messages) from HIM.  It is HIS creation and HIS clock! The holy scriptures from Genesis to Revelations are full of commandments to come before HIM at “Appointed Times” based on His Biblical calendar. The scriptures reveal recorded dates of major spiritual events based on God’s reckoning of time, not our modern man-made calendars.

So why don’t we live by the Creator’s Clock? It seems like an obvious step to take to be in sync with our Creator.  The scriptures we read in the Bible and the Torah are connected to the Creator’s calendar; the foundation and establishment of the concept of time.  Not understanding God’s Time is probably one of the many reasons mankind has become so distant from God and people do  not fully understand HIS Word.  It may also be why many believers have become so weak when it comes to spiritual powers. We’ don’t live by the Biblical Clock because mankind thinks it has a better way, and overtime our world leaders and cultural paradigm shifts have change the calendar from God’s original design.

Wrapping my mind around the concept of moving from the World Clock to God’s Clock is a more than a change in time.  For me, it is coming under the full obedience to God in every second of the day and accepting HIS Way as the only way.  It also means, I now understand concepts in scripture I did not see before because I was trying to make the Word of Almighty God line up with a man-made calendar designed without God.

So, as you follow my journey of discovery through the GodTime Blog, I hope you become inspired to seek more information on the Biblical Calendar. With each post, I will always supply links to books and other resources that I have found to be helpful in my study.  My motivating scripture for this journey is Timothy 2:15
