Amelia in Hebrew is “Amalyah” which means “God at Work
God Time Blog author, Amelia Hamilton-Morris is a believer in Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) and has been a member of Messianic Jewish congregations for 26+ years. Messianic simply means she fellowships with Jewish believers who acknowledge Jesus (Yeshua) as the Messiah and still maintain their Jewish identity.
“Messianic” believers can be Jewish or non-Jewish people. Amelia observes the Shabbat, during the traditional Jewish times of sunset on Friday evening until Saturday night and she honors and celebrates all the Holy Days or Appointed Times of God as dictated in the scriptures.
Amelia holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Spelman College in Atlanta Georgia and a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Public Affairs from American University in Washington, D.C. She is married and the mother of two children.
Her journey of faith is ongoing, she says; “I began asking questions at age 11, about the Hebrew roots of Jesus. It was hard for me to explain as a child, but deep in my spirit I was yearning for more than what was being taught to me by my church,” she added. This seed of curiosity about the Jewishness of Jesus (Yeshua) developed into a lifelong journey of faith, seeking to understand more about the His culture and His original instructions to the first congregation or community of believers who were obviously, all Jewish and attending a synagogue.
Professionally, Amelia is a communications strategist with years of experience in high profile public relations, broadcasting, and marketing positions. She spent several years in television news where she won numerous awards for her work on the state, national and international levels while working in Houston, Texas and Des Moines, Iowa. She has extensive experience in corporate communications for Fortune 500 companies, government public relations and communications.
God Time is her passion, “doing public relations for God.” Her calling is to pursue visions from God to create a communication tool designed to reach believers who are seeking the Hebrew roots of the Christian and Jewish faiths.
