Biblical Events in SIVAN (May-June)
Biblical History in the 3rd Month of Sivan (May-June) Yeshua read from the book of Isaiah in a crowded synagogue. It was 13th day of the Third Month, 27 CE…
The Biblical calendar is the time reckoning system that the original worshippers of Israel used to count the days and months. The Biblical Calendar is lunar, based upon the cycles of the moon. The Moon takes about 27 to 29 days to orbit Earth, but the lunar phase cycle (from new Moon to new Moon) is 29.5 days. This is where we get 30 days in a month. However, the solar calendar is the dating system based on the time it takes the Earth to revolve once around the Sun, about 365 days in a year.
Months in the Jewish calendar are based on the phases of the moon. A new month begins on the day of the crescent moon appears in the sky which begins New Moon phase of 29-30 days. A new month. And days in the bible are begin at evening or sundown and last 24 hours until the next sundown.
The Biblical Calendar which GOD established in scripture is the foundation of the well known Jewish Calendar. It is probably the most accurate when calculating months and days established by GOD in the scriptures. However, today’s version of the Jewish calendar also contains a lot of Jewish cultural and historical activities that are not in the scriptures.
The God’s Calendar as outlined in the Bible adds a new dimension to bible study, allowing us to pin point scriptural events on our present day calendar chart and be more conscious of the timing of God’s work in the earth. The most important of these are the Appointed Times established by GOD for us to meet with HIM.
