Last year in 2020, believers all over the world were shut behind locked doors for Passover; and Easter the Christian version of this Holy Feast Day. Now in the very first month of the Biblical year, Nisan 1 (March 14, 2021) Bible Scholars, Messianic Jewish Rabbis, and Christian Leaders are all saying the upcoming Appointed Time (Passover / Easter) will be very significant.

It is not clear to me what that means exactly but does make me stop and think. Well, I can’t wait to see what Almighty God is going to do, but if look back over Bible History, there were major moves of God during Nisan, the first month on His Biblical calendar. Our Heavenly Father established HIS holiest festivals in this first month of Nisan – Passover Feast, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits. Here are some more important bookmarks for this month.

  • 1 Nisan (circa 1456 BCE) – First mitzvah (commandment) is given to the Jewish people: Adonai spoke to Moshe and Aharon in the land of Egypt; he said, 2 “You are to begin your calendar with this month; it will be the first month of the year for you. • 13 NisanOn this day, the Messiah was crucified. Yeshua /Jesus was nailed to the cross around 9 a.m. and died around 3PM.  He dies during the time that the Passover lambs are being slaughter in Israel.  His body was placed in the tomb at twilight. Passover which is Nisan 14 began at sundown.

  • 14 Nisan– Passover is the foundation that Christians uses to create the observance dates for Good Friday and Easter Sunday . The Judeo-Christian religion grew out of Judaism when the early Jews who followed Yeshua / Jesus and proclaimed Him the Messiah.
  • 17 NisanYeshua /Jesus rose from the grave, exactly three days and three nights (72 hours) after the burial; fulfilling Bible prophecies and authenticating His Messiahship.

Nisan, the first month is a prolonged Passover celebration. It is the month of redemption and resurrection, the month of the beginning of miracles, and the month that sets the course for your future.  Take some time this month to honor the Appointed Times of God and watch Him open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that you cannot contain.
