The Apostle Paul explains the risen Messiah as “the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep” (1 Corinthians 15:20 – 23).  The Biblical Calendar give us the day of resurrection as it coincides with the time of the spring feast of First Fruits. According to bible scholars Kevin Howard and Marvin Rosenthal in their book, The Feasts of the Lord: God’s Prophetic Calendar from Calvary to the Kingdom they state:

“First fruits was an early spring feast, the third in the Jewish festive cycle. On the Hebrew calendar, it occurred on the 16th day of Nisan, the first biblical month (March-April) only two days after the beginning of the Passover Season.”

We know that Yeshua was crucified and buried on Nisan 14 and rose from the grave on the Third Day! Thank God for the biblical calendar that makes it very clear and easy to follow.

The Passover Season as we know it today starts with The Lord’s Passover which is a single day celebration with the seder meal, followed by the Feast of Unleavened Bread which is a seven-day celebration, and the two are collectively referred to as the Passover Season. This Appointed Time on the Biblical Calendar is a watershed landmark of faith in both the Old and the New Testaments. It is truly the defining moment for God’s people both Jew and Gentile.
The deliverance for the Hebrews from Egypt was not just freedom from slavery. It was the birth of a new nation of Israelites that would serve God in the desert and in the Promised Land; and the beginning of a new holy lifestyle that God Himself would write the instruction manual for living.
In the New Testament God uses this same Appointed Time of Passover to deliver all mankind from sin with the death and resurrection of His only Son, Yeshua, the Lamb of God. The Father offers all of mankind a new beginning, a rebirth, and a way out of sin and death.

Matthew 27:52-54, Complete Jewish Bible
Also the graves were opened, and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life; 53 and after Yeshua rose, they came out of the graves and went into the holy city, where many people saw them. 54 When the Roman officer and those with him who were keeping watch over Yeshua saw the earthquake and what was happening, they were awestruck and said, “He really was the son of God.”

Feasts & New Moon Dates 2024

Following are dates of the Biblically commanded Feasts for 2024.* These are not only Jewish Holy Days. In Leviticus 23:2 Yehovah tells us, “These are My appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the Lord, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.” They are Yehovah’s specially appointed times available to all His followers. Mark your calendar and plan ahead to participate with Yehovah on His Holy Days!
On the Hebrew/Biblical calendar a day begins and ends at dusk (See Genesis 1).
Accordingly, each of these Feasts begins and ends at sundown.

The Feasts of the Lord: God’s Prophetic Calendar from Calvary to the Kingdom

BY: Kevin Howard and Marvin Rosenthal

My point is that the Passover Season is the foundation of faith in the Messiah Yeshua. In this Appointed Time of  an 8-day period, we see the example of Physical Deliverance by the blood of the lamb in the Old Testament and the actual Spiritual Deliverance by the Lamb of God in the New Testament. In the watershed landmark of the Passover Season we have:
Yeshua Crucified
Buried in a borrowed tomb
Resurrected on the 3rd Day
Declared “The First Fruits of those who have fallen asleep”
Resurrected Messiah begins 40-days on earth.
