What Did Yeshua Do After He Rose from the Dead?
Counting the Omer with Yeshua April 13, 2025 to May 31, 2025
Crucified on Passover, raised on the Third Day, but wait, HE hung around for 40 more days. The Bible tells us the resurrected Yeshua (Jesus) walked on the earth for 40 days. His miraculous appearances as the Resurrected Savior occurred during a period that God’s calls the Counting of the Omer; also referred to as the Feast of Weeks. This is the 49 days between Passover and Pentecost aka Shavuot. The counting begins the day after Passover and counts seven weeks to Shavuot or Pentecost. Here is the rest of the story ….
All Israel, including Yeshua (Jesus) and the 12 disciples were commanded by God in the scriptures to count the 49 days between Passover and Shavuot (Pentecost) and on the 50th day they were to hold a one-day feast and holy assembly. This Appointed Time is established by GOD in the Bible in Leviticus 23:15-16; and Deuteronomy 16:9-16 is called the Counting of the Omer. The 50th Day is when God performed some of the greatest miracles!
It is no mistake that Yahweh, the God of Israel had already drawn attention to the 50-day period long before the birth and life of Yeshua (Jesus). Israelites were already commanded and well trained to count these days by praying with expectation for spiritual growth, wisdom and even a divine encounter on the 50th Day!
The followers of Yeshua, both Jew and Gentile, along with unbelieving Jews were all counting the days. But they were not counting down; they were counting up and expecting Adonai to do miracles in their personal lives and in their community. They were literally praying in one accord for a miracle from God and an outpouring of the Ruach Ha-Kodesh in Israel!
The Resurrection of the Messiah occurs during this time and there is no greater miracle than this! Then in His new resurrected body, Yeshua (Jesus) walks the earth and teaches about the Kingdom of God for 40 of the 50 days. Hallelujah!
Yeshua (Jesus) shared more wisdom, clarified Scriptures, and prepared his disciples for their most important assignment on this earth! The Great Commission would usher in a new humanity throughout the earth. So, when did He appear and what did Yeshua (Jesus) teach?
Lessons Yeshua Taught during Counting of the Omer
The Bible tells us that the Resurrected Messiah taught about the Kingdom of God during His 40 days on earth. He demonstrated how to live holy during His entire ministry. At Yeshua’s last Passover Seder He imparted wisdom and knowledge to His disciples, established the New Covenant in His blood and told them to keep His commandments. In those last 40 days during the Counting of the Omer His teachings rose to a whole new level imparting crucial messages providing guidance, reassurance, and a mission for his followers. Some of the major points were:
- Clear instructions on how to spread His message to all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).
- Forgiveness and reconciliation.
- The promise of the Holy Spirit.
- Wait in Jerusalem in the Upper Room for the Holy Spirit.
- The necessity of His suffering and His glory.
- Keep His Commandments (John 14:15-16)
- Yeshua taught how He fulfilled Prophecy, (Luke 24:20-27 (TLV)
- Parables about faith, love, forgiveness, and the kingdom of God.
Over the past 30 years I have made every effort to study and keep all the Appointed Times of God that are written in His Word. Each year, without fail, God shows me a new revelation!
The Appointed Times are a strong connection to the Heavenly Father. HIS holy days are designed to keep us focused on HIM and not the worries of this world.
I will be counting the days with anticipation of the next miraculous event of GOD on HIS Biblical calendar!
